The center has 50 mini handlooms, by which you can weave a table center cloth (approx.. 20cm x 30 cm in size, and take it home with your souvenir when finished.
Through Honmamon-Lecture “Superb Experience” -Mastering Nama-Yatsuhashi, you will learn how to make tsubuan (sweet bean paste), kinako (soybean flour), nikki (sweetened soybean flour), and dough, and master the art of making the representative Kyoto sweets, “nama-Yastuhashi. You will also taste one of your finished sweet with matcha prepared by yourself.
You can enjoy a traditional confection and bowl of matcha tea ryurei-style, sitting on chairs instead of on the floor without having to take off your shoes. The view of the lovely garden outside the tea room is also a highlight.
Visiting the Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum is in one of the foremost sake-brewing areas in Japan, the Fushimi district of Kyoto, you can see the history of Japanese sake culture. Then You will enjoy tasting a range of Japanese sakes brewed with the underground water that is Fushimi’s natural bounty, using traditional techniques honed through our history of challenge and creativity.
